In the Path to Arahantship, Luang Por Maha Boowa explains the nature of the citta (translated as heart/mind or just mind in this excerpt). To truly know the citta, one meditates and experience it through samadhi, and learn to separate the citta from 5 aggregates to know its true purity which is our natural self.

I find this writing from Patrul Rinpoche very touching to my heart and decided to share it. It reminds me of how capable my own mind is of creating dreams and believing in the happy-ever-after, which are not permanent. It is only in letting go (freeing our hearts and allowing things to unfold) can we learn the deepest lessons. In letting go, we receive. #meditation #contemplation #buddhism #vajrayana #nirvana #dharma
